Viansa Winery Wedding

Weddings

Sasha and Kevin had an amazing Viansa Winery wedding, full of color, laughter, and beauty. They selected their color palette of oranges from Viansa’s terra cotta building and vibrant greens from the surrounding lush vineyard and olive trees. What resulted was a truly spectacular event! Scroll on to see their gorgeous day.

About The Couple

Q: How did you two meet & get engaged?

A: “Kevin was a chef at Citizen Public House and Oyster Bar in Boston, MA. Sasha moved from California to Boston and started working at the same restaurant. He made her his famous toffee bread pudding and she was smitten. It was a slow and steady love story, spanning 7 years. No one ever thought he would fully commit but in June 2020, he surprised her (and her mom who was visiting from CA) with a proposal at a Connecticut vineyard where we officiated his sisters wedding the year before. Somehow, despite the pandemic, Kevin managed to gather most of their family and friends together for a surprise engagement party after. It was a beautiful summer day filled with love, tears, and wine – exactly how they like it!”

Q:What was the inspiration for your wedding vision?

A: “I just wanted everyone to feel like family. I wanted the evening to feel intimate and special, while creating an environment where everyone could just party and have a good time. It’s not lost on me that with our family and friends spanning both coasts, something like this – the gathering of everyone in one place – likely won’t happen again.”

Q: What do you love most about your venue that lead you to pick it?

A: “You can’t beat the views. I love that we get to be in this secluded spot with our loved ones – it truly feels like you’ve been transported to Italy. It felt like nostalgic wine country when we first stepped foot on the property and there was something so familial and comfortable about it. I remember sitting on the patio, drinking a glass of wine, trying to decide if this spot was the one, and all of a sudden, My Way by Frank Sinatra started playing (it’s my all time favorite song), and I burst into tears. I knew this spot was special.”

Q: How did you select your wedding colors?

A: “I was really inspired by Viansa. So once we selected the venue, it was easy to pull colors – the terra cotta of the buildings, green of the vines. The color palette kind of built itself.”

Q: What special touches did you add/create to make the wedding day feel custom & personal to you two?

A: “We wanted our special touches to be a nod to our heritage and be subtle. So our save the date designs incorporated an Italian and Russian flag on the top of the Viansa building, our cocktail napkins say cheers in Russian and Italian. And the escort cards are shots of homemade vodka made by our dear friends – a common thing you’ll find at a Russian wedding. And then we also wanted to include some personal touches, again subtle, like cocktail napkins for late night that include a portrait of our dog who wasn’t able to make the trip, the signature drinks are a nod to Kevin’s love of golf and Sasha’s love of Broadway/The Sound of Music. All of the little details, including music, were so carefully curated based on us. Guests may not pick up on all of it, but it’s what I’ll notice and remember.”
