3 Things Your Rental Company Wish You Knew
Today’s post of three things your rental company wish you knew comes to you from Mallory Wilson of French Events located in Benicia, CA. Below she shares her tips and tricks for getting the most out of your wedding day rentals. Enjoy!

Throwing a big event can sometimes be an overwhelming and somewhat confusing experience, but don’t worry! The professionals are here to help! There are a few tips and tricks that can make planning your event a little less stressful. When working with your rental company, here are three things you should know:
1) For a seamless experience, we need all the little details.
1) Please give us all of the information we need in advance. For example, if there is a gate code to enter the property, please let us know. There may be additional charges associated with porting, setting up and striking, so please let us know if you will need these services at the time of booking so we can plan accordingly.
If you know there is a gravel or sandy path on the premises that might keep us from using carts, we may need additional staff. If your venue has special rules about rentals, please communicate those to us. If the venue address is not “Google-able,” please provide directions.
When requesting a quote for rentals, please include the following initial information:
– Approximate Guest Count
– Items or Services Interested In
– Venue Address
– Name, Phone and Email
– Event Date
– Start Time
– Event Type
2) We love using our experience to help with recommendations
2) Did you know that we can help make sure you have everything you need? Sometimes, things like garbage bins, lighting, or ice scoops can be over-looked. We have years of experience in event planning and may be able to offer some helpful, money-saving pointers. Two heads are always better than one, so schedule a phone or an in-person consultation to ensure that you have all of your bases covered. Once the big day arrives, it is usually not possible to add an extra table or linen. We are so happy to assist, so please help us help you.
3) Inventory is limited – don’t delay in booking
3) Do not wait to book your rentals. Each rental company has a limited amount of inventory. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. Please book your rentals as soon as you can. You can usually make changes after booking if needed, so it is always best to get on our calendars sooner rather than later. There is no such thing as “too soon” to start the process of securing rentals.
These simple steps can help ensure a smooth delivery and get your event off to a great start. If you are ever in doubt, please reach out. We love our clients and will help any way we can. Happy planning!
