Redwood Regional Park Oakland Engagement

Engagements

It was closed. AGAIN. Over a month ago I had scouted a beautiful redwood location for Chi and Dan’s engagement. My husband and I explored the Redwood Grove at the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden and I fell in love with the winding paths and beautiful light that streamed through the trees. I knew this would be a great spot for Chi & Dan and we set a date for their session to be held there.

Well, the universe seemed to have other plans. Our first go around, we found out the morning of the session that the grove was being closed for maintenance and wouldn’t be opened for another two weeks. Thankfully, Chi and Dan agreed to reschedule a month later, hoping for warm weather by then as an added bonus. You can image our disappointment when we drove up well beyond the schedule reopen date only to see that the grove was, again, closed. With some quick thinking, I suggested we try another beautiful local redwood area in the Redwood Regional Park of Oakland. Luckily there was still enough afternoon sun down there for us to capture some beautiful shots! We found a lovely row of redwoods relatively clear of the families walking throughout the park, set down our bags, and got to it!

To Chi and Dan – thank you again for your flexibility not only in our reschedule date, but also in our location! I’m so glad we were still able to capture these images for you with the beautiful redwood trees in the background.  I won’t forget how lovely you two looked snuggled between these massive trees with the light pouring in. Or how Chi managed to carry Dan piggy-back-style IN HEELS for a few silly shots. Wow! You two looked absolutely amazing that day and I love the images we created together. Thank you for allowing me to capture this special moment in your lives. I can’t wait for your wedding later this year!

Beautifully DOCUMENTED memories await.
